Founded by Ziad Touma, Couzin Films is an independent production company based in Montreal focused on film, television and interactive media, in fiction and documentary for all screens.

Couzin Films has produced eight feature films, including The Thawing of Ice by François Péloquin, with Christine Beaulieu and Lothaire Bluteau, released in 2024 and EVERGREEN$ by Stéphane Moukarzel, with Étienne Galloy and Diane Rouxel, released in 2023.

Couzin Films produced two films in 2019: Ghost Town Anthology by Denis Côté (Official Competition Berlinale, San Sebastian, Karlovy Vary and screened in almost a hundred other festivals) ) and Joseph Hillel’s feature documentary City Dreamers (Official Selections: RIDM, FIFA, DOXA, ADFF) and broadcast on CBC. In 2016, The Sound of Trees had its world premiere in official competition at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Couzin Films also produced two fiction interactive series including The Passengers, coproduced by Couzin Films and Les Produits Frais in France, directed by Ziad Touma, written by Nicolas Peufaillit in collaboration with Robert Hospyan and Coralie Majouga, selected at the Sundance New Frontier Story Lab and competed at Tribeca, SXSW, Rotterdam, Cannes XR, New Images Paris, FNC Montreal, Kaohsiung, Taipei, etc. It won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Interactive Fiction and was nominated at the International VR Awards.
